Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
What is NLP and how does it work?
In its simplest form NLP shines a light on our internal processes and programmes so that we can change.
We are all running ‘programmes’ based on what we have observed, heard, felt, and therefore learnt from our life experiences. NLP provides techniques and a solution focussed approach for you to change the relationship with those experiences, thus changing your programming.
NLP is not so much interested in why we do what we do, but how. The why part relates to history and the meaning that we give it, but we can’t change history and so do not focus on it, instead we focus on how someone constructs their reality as it is far more useful and easier to change. This is why it can be used to treat a number of issues without necessarily bringing up the past.
The overall aim of NLP is to create new neural pathways in the brain that will result in the outcome you desire
